Pokemon Go created a frenzied hype upon release in Malaysia as the nation travelled everywhere to collect virtual pets. In the meantime, real dogs and cats were neglected and adoption rates for strays are at an all-time low in Malaysia.

The Challenge

How do we get people to adopt pets in 2 weeks while Pokemon Go is still trending?

The Idea

Maybe if we disguised some pets who need homes as Pokemon, people might pay attention!

The Film

By using a trending gaming phenomenon as leverage, we’ve helped to raise awareness regarding pet adoption amongst the general public.

The Result

300 pets were adopted in 2 weeks. In other words, that’s a 300% increase within a fortnight.
